Sunday School

Our Sunday School progam starts each September with a fun and motivational Rally Day that serves as the kick-off to a great year!  Following Rally Day, our Sunday School students are engaged in Bible lessons that are specifically developed for their ages and grades. Three different classes are offered.  Children in preschool, kindergarten and first grade enter one classroom, children in grades two and three enter a separate classroom and then our Senior program welcomes grades four through high school.

Children preschool age and above join the congregation for the beginning of the worship service. Following a hymn and prayers, they are invited to participate in the Children's Chat. Messages are based upon relevant current events, Sunday School messages and church sermons or events.  Following the Children's Chat, children leave the sanctuary and join their Sunday School teacher.

At Christmas and Easter, children perform a short program during the church service. Children rehearse the songs for several weeks before the performance, and individuals are encouraged to showcase their talents if they feel comfortable doing so. Our recent Christmas program included piano and violin solos, singing, and readings. Children and adults alike enjoy these programs!!

Children in our Sunday School program are supervised at all times. Restrooms are located within steps of the Sunday School classrooms so that teachers can supervise restroom breaks. All Sunday School teachers are Church members who have submitted to background checks. Eight Sunday School teachers teach lessons on a rotating basis.

Younger children (under preschool age) may go to the church nursery, where they will be cared for during the church service by a caring, background checked childcare provider. Children will have the opportunity to play with a variety of developmentally appropriate toys, as well as engage in developmentally appropriate faith lessons. Children may be given a snack during the service. The nursery is largely unstructured due to the age of the children.  Children of all ages are also welcome to attend the worship service with their family.
